Cherry ~ Keya Paha County Emergency Management

CERT Members are community citizens, like you who receive training in basic response skills. In the event of a disaster CERT members can assist others by applying the basic response and organizational skills that they learned during training. CERT also applies to household and daily emergencies. Prior training is not necessary to become a CERT TEAM member.

During the 20 hour course CERT members learn:

·          To work as a team to apply basic fire suppression strategies, resources and safety measures to extinguish a burning liquid.

·          Apply techniques for opening airways, controlling bleeding, and treating for shock.

·          Perform head-to-toe assessments

·          Select and set up a treatment area.

·          Identify planning and size-up requirements for potential search and rescue situations.

·          Use safe techniques for debris removal and victim extrication.

And much more!

There are currently no trainings scheduled. However, we are planning to hold additional trainings after the 1st of the year. If you are interested to sign up for a training or would like further information please call Eilene Brannon or Rachel Doherty at 402-376-2420.

Currently, there are members in Springview, Sparks, Wood Lake, Valentine, Crookston, Kilgore, Nenzel, and Cody. Sparks has a mini team that trains together.
