The Hastings Art Club Information

Meeting Information

• We usually meet each fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Hastings Public Library. We occasionally will have a club outing to members' homes or studios. We hold board elections in September.
• Our Meet & Eat business meetings are three times a year in January, April and October.

Club Studio

• Studio A - basement of Bert's Rexall Drug Store, 700 W. 2nd St., Hastings, NE
• This place has a darkroom, workshops space, and some artwork on display and is located in downtown Hastings.

Membership Information

Yearly membership dues are $16.00. There are reduced student dues available at a cost of $11.00. Supporting memberships are $50.00 per year. Dues are payable October 1 of each year and ANAC dues are optional at a cost of $7.00 per year.

History of The Hastings Art Club

The Hastings Art Club originated during an open exhibit held in 1961 at the Hastings Museum. The exhibit had been arranged for the purpose of determining the amount of art activity in the community. Response to the exhibit was almost more than the Museum could then accommodate. The Club was officially organized in the fall of 1961, and by 1972 was the second largest club in the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs (ANAC).

The club has evolved through the years to include several artist's work being shown and sold from coast to coast.
