I was born the oldest of ten children and attended school in West Point, Nebraska, where most of my family still live. I attended Chadron State College located in the beautiful Pine Ridge area of the Nebraska panhandle where I met my husband, Steve. I graduated in 1974 with a B.A. in Art. I worked in the Medical Illustration Department at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston while my husband attended school there. Our daughter Erika was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, during a stay of several years while my husband served as a medical officer in the Army Medical Service Corps. We moved to Hastings, Nebraska, in 1986 where I currently teach graphic art in the Media Arts department at Central Community College. I am the president of the Hastings Art Club, the newsletter editor of the Adams County Genealogical Society and the Oregon-California Trail Association-Nebraska Chapter, and the web designer and administrator for the Sandy Dennis Foundation, the Nebraska Art Teachers Association, and the Cuming County NeGenWeb sites.
