Cockshutt
660 Row Crop
(1963 only)

This is one of Fifteen Cockshutt 660's built in Oliver's Charles City, Iowa tractor plant.  One 660 Cockahutt was built on January 10, 1963, then seven were built on February 20th and seven more were built on February 21st.  All fifteen were shipped on February 25th to Weston, Ontario Canada.  All the build cards for these tractors have red paint on them, are stamped "COCKSHUTT" and have a hand written note " less decals".  At the time the Canadian goverment required anything sold in Canada had to have some assembly in Canada, thus the decals were installed upon arrival.

The tractor is the same tractor as the Oliver 660 except: the center grill strip does not have "OLIVER" stamped in it.  The axle housings do not have "OLIVER" in the castings.  The word "OLIVER" has been ground off of the intake manifold, the top rad cap is different from the Oliver piece and the center cap in the steering wheel is a Cockshutt piece.  Of course the Serial Number plate indicates it as a Cockshutt.  The dash guages are Oliver and Oliver is stamped into the fenders.

This tractor is Serial Number 129 263 built on February 20th, 1963.   The tractor was purchased near Dutton, ON from Mr. Bob Hardy in August of 2009 and restored in the winter of 2010.  Fourteen were built with an adjustable front axle and one with dual front, however some were converted by dealers.  It is pretty much a basic tractor, adjustable front axle with optional front wheels and tires, PTO and Dual Hydraulics.
