OLIVER

77 Standard
(1948 - 1953)

Oliver built the model 77 tractor in three versions, Row Crop, Standard & Industrial.   This Standard model is a 1951 and was sold new by a Canadian Oliver dealer.   The tractor was purchased just north of Regina, Saskatchewan Canada.   The standards have fixed front and rear treads and a lower profile as compared to the Row Crop.

Equipped with a 6 cylinder engine, it had a bore of 3 5/16” and stroke of 3 3/4” with a rated engine RPM of 1600 developing 27 Horsepower.   The tractor now has a modified engine & does a good job with a 3 btm 16" plow.   It is equipped with a PTO, however, it does not have any hydraulics.   The tractor had the usual rust problem with the rear wheels and worn tires.   The rear wheels and tires were replaced with wheels and 16.9 x 26" tires from a combine.   I like the apparance of the tractor with the larger rear tires.   As it is now equipped, it weighs 3715 lbs.

This tractor was shown at the HPOCA 2007 Secondary Show in Owatta, KS
