Routes
How
to Get Here
Take Exit 312 from I-80. Turn South on Hwy 281 for about 16 miles. Turn East on 14th Street. Take the first right turn into the parking lot behind the Hastings Museum. Registration is at the shelter in Highland Park behind the train.
After the Ride
Showers are available after the ride at the Hastings YMCA on 16th Street. Join us at the Hastings Quality Hotel for an after-ride meal. Additional meals may be purchased for your family and friends who may not have participated in the ride.
Pioneer Spirit Trail
From the funds raised with the help of cyclists like you, $6000 from the Pioneer Spirit Trail fund was donated to the City of Hastings to help purchase the land for the final section of Phase 2. Now completed, this section connects Phase 1 with Phase 2 for a continuous 5.2-mile trail around Hastings. This trail connects Libs Park, Lake Hastings, Hastings College, Heartwell Park and the train station.
Safety
Helmets are required. Roads are open to traffic, so please obey all traffic and safety rules. All riders must sign a waiver at registration. Riders under 18 years old must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver.
Kool-Aid Days
Thousands of “kids” of all ages gather in Hastings, Nebraska the second full weekend of every August to celebrate the invention of Kool-Aid, Nebraska’s Official Soft Drink, by Edwin Perkins in 1927. The festival features the World’s Largest Kool-Aid Stand, giant inflatable rides, carnival games, festival foods, trolley rides through the Hastings Historic District and many other events. Visitors can purchase commemorative “Kollectibles” including special $2 mugs, which entitle them to drink as much Kool-Aid as they want of 16 flavors served.
