Well, Jake's here. He’s been a part of our lives for nearly three months now. It’s been nothing short of amazing. I get a little jealous sometimes, because Jake seems to have taken to Sue
better than myself. She gets him smiling and laughing all the time. I guess it’s all a trade off though. At least I’m not the one that has to whip out a part of my anatomy at four in the morning
to feed him.
I’ve mentioned before that I think Susan is Super Woman. I think that’s beginning to go to her head a little, but I do have to say that I’m continually impressed with her composure
when it comes to Jake. The times are few and far between that she doesn’t know exactly what he needs. I don’t know where that comes from. People will tell you it’s some sort of natural ability that mothers have. I don’t buy it. Well, maybe I do just a little.
Jake’s growing right before our eyes. His weight is up to about 14 pounds and he’s a little more than 24 inches. Unfortunately for me, I think I’m “growing” with Jake. Note to self:
quit eating at McDonalds.
Thankfully Jake is sleeping through the night with absolutely no problems. In fact, we usually have to wake him in the morning to get him going. Sleep is soooo important for me, so
I’m really psyched he’s sleeping so well.
We’re looking forward to our first Christmas with the little man. My mom is coming out to Lincoln for about six days around Christmas. That’s going to be really neat. I love to take
this time of year to really focus on spending some time with family and friends. Having mom here will be a great boost for me. Seeing her with her grandson will make the holidays even more special.
