Welcome!

The Lincoln Amateur Radio Club is one of the most active public service and ARES clubs in the country, but sometimes it's nice to get on the air just for fun...some friendly competition perhaps, or maybe chatting with a new friend on the other side of the world. Whatever your interest, ham radio has the answer.

Some members of LARC enjoy participating in "radio-sport" or contesting, either casually (to pick up a new country or state) or fanatically (to push the envelope of equipment efficiency and operator stamina). Whether you are new to Ham Radio or an experienced "old-timer", whether your goal is to try something new or to make the top ten, we hope there is something on these pages that will help make your "on-the-air" time more enjoyable.

An interest in contesting usually goes hand-in-hand with an interest in DXing, station automation, QSL collecting, antenna design and packet cluster, but enjoyable on-the-air activity certainly isn't limited to these. Special event stations, traffic nets, ARES activities, transmitter hunting, even public service qualify as on-the-air activity. We'll concentrate on contesting and DXing on this site, but if that doesn't interest you, please don't run off...stick around a bit, browse our menu and visit our links. You never know what you might find!

Whatever your interests, the important thing is to get active! Use your frequencies and enjoy ham radio!
