Travel

I've been a lot of places in the US in my life, from coast to coast. Most of my traveling, and that which I've enjoyed the most, has been since I graduated high school. I can't really pick just one place that I liked that much more than any other. I would love to be able to travel and meet more of my online friends. I have finally gotten some pics scanned in and put on a page.

Arkansas

While on a trip with some family, we stopped in Hot Springs on the way back from Memphis. Only stayed one night, but I did get to see some neat stuff, and still have the bottle from some water that I got in the area.

California

San Francisco

While visiting California to see my cousin's graduation in 1993, I was able to go into San Francisco. We checked out the pier and did a lot of shopping, too. I definitely want to go back and see more of the town, and take a trolley ride, this time.

Los Angeles

I went to see indieFan and her boyfriend for a weekend in September of 1997. I got to see quite a bit that I wanted to, including the Hard Rock Cafe, a Pink Floyd laser light show, the La Brea Tar Pits and Man's Chinese Theatre.

Colorado

A very beautiful state, went here with my family for a weekend in the summer of 1992. Stopped in Denver, Estes Park, and drove through the Eisenhower Tunnel.

Illinois

I've been through Chicago many times on the way to other places, but I did once stay and visit for a weekend over New Years 1995.

Iowa

Since I live right across the river from Iowa, I've been there often. Mostly to Council Bluffs, and the casinos, but I've also been to Des Moines and Mason City with a couple of friends.

Kansas

I've been to the Kansas City area a couple of times, including once for a chess tournament, and again in May of 1999, with my aunt, uncle and 3 cousins to Worlds of Fun. I had a blast. In 2002, I went to the Summer Nationals at the Topeka Speedway.

Louisiana

I went to New Orleans the weekend after Mardi Gras, 1998. I wanted to be there for Mardi Gras itself, but was unable to book a flight back when I needed to. I had a great time, and would love to have a place on the bayou.

Maryland

I've flown into Baltimore several times.

Massachusetts

I went to my first, and so far only, fest in Boston, in the summer of 1994. I spent a week there, meeting a lot of people and seeing numerous sites. I definitely want to go back.

Minnesota

I visited a friend in Moorhead, late one Saturday night after a Reba McIntyre concert my sister and I went to in Fargo, and stopped in the Twin Cities on the way to Wisconsin to see Rosemary.

Missouri

I've got family from here, so I've been to Missouri a lot. Mostly northwest Missouri, in and around the Maryville area. I've also been through St. Louis, once on the way back from West Virginia, on the bus, and again on my trip to New Orleans.

Nebraska

Hey, it's my home state, of course I've been here. Some places of interest include the Henry Doorley Zoo, Rosenblatt Stadium, home of the College World Series, and the Omaha Royals, SAC Museum, Ashfall Fossil Beds State History Park, Morrill Hall in Lincoln, as well as many of the lakes and parks throughout the state.

Nevada

Rode through Nevada on I-80, on the way to California.

New York

I've only been through it on my trip to Boston.

North Dakota

Saw Reba McIntyre in concert at the FargoDome in May of 1996.

Ohio

I'm not impressed with northern Ohio, in particular, Cleveland, having been through there more times that I'd like, on the bus. However, when returning from Pennsylvania, and going through the middle of Ohio, I found it to be nicer.

Pennsylvania

Allentown

I spent a month here, after college, while I was trying to decide what to do with my life.

York

I've visited my (ex-)gf, Keri, several times.

Gettysburg

Keri and I made several trips to Gettysburg, where she had been a park ranger.

Rhode Island

I was in Woonsocket for a bit, meeting up with Fossette and Trystero, two online friends, for the fest in Boston, in 1994.

South Dakota

I've been to South Dakota numerous times. When I was in high school, and college, my dad would take us up to Gavin's Point Dam to go fishing. I've also been to Mount Rushmore, but I was very young at the time, and don't recall it.

Tennessee

I've been to Memphis, home of Graceland, sometime in the early 80's. I recall going through the free part of Graceland.

Utah

I went through Salt Lake City on the way to California in 1993.

Washington, DC

I first went to DC in March, 2003, with Keri. I enjoyed seeing the Smithsonian, the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial, and of course, the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial, aka The Wall. I would like to go again to see more of the Smithsonian as well as one or two other sites, and to take my dad to see The Wall.

West Virginia

I visited a friend in Huntington, over spring break in 1995. I loved the country. It was very beautiful, and I wouldn't mind going back to see several other friends who live in the area, as well as take in the lovely scenery again.

Wisconsin

I went to Madison in July of 1998 to visit a friend, Rosemary, who was having a get-together of many of her friends on and off the net for her birthday.

Wyoming

My family and I went through here on the way to California in 1993.
