PILOT CAUTION PANEL

Test/Reset and Test Switches

The pilot caution panel has a TEST/RESET toggle switch. Momentarily placing the pilot switch to the test position will cause pilot caution panel and MASTER CAUTION lights in both pilot's and gunner's station to illuminate. Testing of the system will not change the existing fault condition indications. Momentarily placing the pilot switch in the RESET position will extinguish and reset the pilot and gunner MASTER CAUTION lights so they will illuminate again should another fault condition occur.

DESCRIPTION

The caution light system includes the pilots and gunners caution panels. The purpose of these units is to provide a visual warning in the event of system malfunctions in the helicopter. The pilots and gunners caution panels contain independent lights and   internal lamp driver circuits. The lights are arranged in four columns in the pilots caution panel, and three in the gunners panel. Each light has it's own unique nomenclature filter and two individual lamps. These illuminate when associated sensor/switches, located in the helicopter to monitor various systems, actuate to complete circuits, indicating malfunctions. The panels are energized from  a 28 Vdc essential bus and protected by a 5 ampere CAUT LT circuit breaker located in the pilot dc circuit breaker panel.
