These birds are nearly as cool as Sesame Street's Big Bird. There were dozens of them at the safari, most in the grass away from the road, but a good half dozen were not at all reluctant to approach. It was a tempation to offer them the popcorn Fiona had bought on the way in, despite (or perhaps because of) the rule against it, but reason won out and the cranes had to find their own lunch.
