This convention report will basically just be a slideshow of the pictures I took at the Kansas City Comic Con on Saturday and Sunday, June 5-6, 2004 with brief explanatory notes. I'll basically run through the photos in alphabetical order (it's the librarian in me...), although there might be a minor tweak here and there for emphasis!
		Comic art collector Will Allred (left), my fellow member of the Comicart list on Yahoo, shows off some of his collection to friends. Will travels about as far to Kansas City as I do, but from the opposite direction. His fine convention reports can usually be found on the Comicartsfans site.
		On Saturday an auction was held to benefit ACTOR (A Commitment To Our Roots), an admirable charity that helps support disadvantaged comic creators. Here a convention volunteer puts a lovely Howard the Duck piece by Kevin Nowlan up for bids.
		Kevin Nowlan's artwork featuring Steve Gerber's signature characters fetched the auction's highest bid, beating an autographed Gerber script by the sum of one thin dollar! This drawing, used for the convention's posters and VIP badges, went to my fellow art collector Greg Huneryager.
