Elk
Creek is not new to "Special Friends", but we are new to Miniature Donkeys. I
have always admired them from a distance. I always thought that someday I
would have one. Well, as you know you can't have just one. The day came when I
thought that my granddaughter should have a pony to ride. We had ponies
when my boys were growing up, so what the heck why not for Elizabeth. I
soon discovered that this "dainty girl" was a little scared of ponies.
Instead of giving up on the idea I was beginning to think that maybe a gentle
little donkey was the answer. She now rides Alison around with just a halter.
They won't win any races,
but that's just the way we both like it. After all she is a little girl, and
not like the little boys that I raised. The boys loved to race ponies,
and the faster the better.
I can't say they were only for her. I love to go for rides in my Donkey cart.
We are looking forward to driving in some parades next year, and just some
pleasure rides around town. They are the best invention since Grandkids.
