As a former development director and executive director, volunteer board member, and consultant, Mari Lane Gewecke has 25 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations.
Prior to launching her consulting business in 1991, Mari held management positions in the nonprofit sector, state government and private business. Her career covers human services, public health, education and the banking industry.
As a consultant, Mari has assisted countless organizations with their strategic planning and fund development needs.
Mari’s volunteer service has included roles as a board member and officer for Folsom Children’s Zoo & Botanical Gardens, Capital Humane Society, Leadership Lincoln and Lincoln Symphony Orchestra Association. Mari also served on the board of directors of Rotary Club #14.
Mari is currently a member of the Cather Circle, serves on the boards of the American Red Cross—Cornhusker Chapter and the Friends of the Libraries of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and chairs the Project and Grant Evaluation Committee for Rotary Club #14.
Professional associations include the Nebraska Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, which Mari served as president in 2000; the Planned Giving Council of Nebraska; and service on the Advisory Board for CharityChannel from 1998-2003.
A cum laude graduate of the University of Nebraska, Mari holds degrees in political science and history as well as a graduate certificate of specialization in gerontology. |
