Shickley established its Foundation in 1991. It has supported significant area projects and continues to be a vehicle to help fund key community needs such as the school, library, scholarships, Fire and Rescue Squads, and many others. The Foundation is also considering grants to other projects and areas of community need. These could include health care, community infrastructure and others. The Foundation has over $490,000 in assets.

As of December 31, 2003, 101 generous households and organizations had raised $161,943.27 in response to the Wilkins family challenge grant of $105,000.00. They are the owners of Geneva State Company and residents of Fillmore County. This accomplished the three year goal set by the Shickley Community Foundation Board of Directors. The ten year goal is to raise $1,000,000.00 by December 31, 2011. All proceeds raised will be an unrestricted community endowment to support Shickley now and in the future.

A $1,000,000.00 endowment fund will allow for annual grants of $50,000.00 to be used for community projects. Join us and be part of this successful campaign that continues to make Shickley "A Big Little Town".
