NDE Standards
4.2.1 By the end of fourth grade, students will estimate, add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers without and with calculators and solve word problems.
Rationale
This particular student came to the resource room for support in math, but does not actually have math goals on his IEP. He was struggling with the classroom setting and learning the skill the class was working on. He greatly benefits from one-on-one support with complex, multi step processes. Division is a multi step process and he needed help understanding, comprehending, and remembering the steps.
