The Assassination of Richard Nixon
- in production, location filming in Omaha in July 2003,
starring Sean Penn, Tim Halpin, Don
Cheadle, Naomi Watts. Executive producer:

Jaqueline Rose is the first feature length film from a
newly established Nebraska film company,
Two By The Tree Productions. The company's goal is to produce
personal, character driven motion pictures. The indie film is using
locations in Fremont and Omaha. Written and directed by Paul Christian
Glenn. Filming locations include
Le Voltaire restaurant in Omaha and
Midland
Lutheran College in Fremont.

The next film by Omahan
Alexander Payne,
Sideways, will be filmed in
California's Santa Ynez Valley. The screenplay is by Payne and his long time
collaborator Jim Taylor. The movie will be a family affair, with
Payne's new bride, Sandra Oh, in a starring role. The film also stars
Thomas Haden Church and Paul Giamatti as the two buddies who
embark on a road trip through wine country before one of them gets married.
The film is based on an upcoming novel by Rex Pickett. Filming begins
in September 2003.
Marg Helgenberger will be back this
fall for a third season as Catherine Willows in CBS' hit series, Crime
Scene Investigation. She is nominated for an Emmy for her work in the

Kurtz's next film,
Duplex, is scheduled to be released
on October 24, 2003. The film also stars Ben Stiller, Drew
Barrymore and Harvey Fierstein. The film is directed by
Danny DeVito.

Nick Nolte's Northfork opened in
limited release in the U.S. on July 11. In the first four weeks, the
film has yet to meet the $1 million mark. Nolte
has completed filming for
Beautiful Country and has been
announced as a cast member of
The Rum Diary with Johnny
Depp, Benicio del Toro and Josh
Hartnett.
