Worship Committee — Chair: David Williams

Represents the congregation in creating the ceremonial life of the church. Works in cooperation with the minister to plan and implement worship services and celebrations. Prepares and participates in some services during the year.

Children and Youth Religious Growth and Learning Committee — Co-Chairs: Phil and Jeryl Hauptman

Develops and maintains a religious growth and learning program for children and youth each Sunday morning of the regular church year. Helps plan intergenerational services and other special occasions.

Pastoral Associates Committee — Chair: Jan Buffum

Organizes contacts with and assistance for members and friends in need of support.

Newcomers Committee — Chair: Ray Crisp

Establishes a welcoming climate for new members; arranges for someone to talk with interested people about membership at Sunday services; organizes events to help new members become better acquainted with Unitarian Universalism and members of the church; encourages new member involvement in church operations and activities.

GLBT Welcoming Committee — Chair: Diane Merrell

Promotes the active understanding, acceptance, and involvement of those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered in our church community and beyond.

Denominational Affairs Committee — Chair: Kathy Johnson

Keeps abreast of the activities of the Prairie Star District and UUA, and encourages awareness, understanding, and involvement on the part of the congregation through internal announcements, newsletters, and flyers.

Public Relations Committee — Chair: Roger Geery

Provides media coverage regarding church activities, and informs the public about Unitarian Universalism. To request assistance from the Public Relations Committee, please fill out the Request for Publicity Form (a PDF file).

Social Action Committee — Co-Chairs: Sharad Seth and Rick Goodman

Organizes support for social action on the part of concerned members and friends. Informs, educates, and recommends actions to the congregation as needed. See our flyer (a PDF file) for more information on the SAC.

Building Committee — Chair: Phil Hauptman

Oversees maintenance, repair, and improvements of the church building and its contents.

Grounds Committee — Co-Chairs: Janine Copple and Jeryl Hauptman

Maintains church grounds in an attractive, manageable, and safe condition.

Fundraising Committee — Chair: Les Manns

Organizes activities to support the operating budget, and conducts other special projects as directed by the Board of Trustees. Oversees the fundraising activities of the church.
