Teen assaulted
at Blue Stem Lake

By Christina Case

On June 7, a 17-year-old Roca boy reported that he and two friends were swimming at the beach at Blue Stem Lake Area 3, when he was assaulted. While they were swimming, a group of about eight males began making fun of them. When he and his friends tried to leave, he said they were confronted by a blonde-haired white male in his early 20’s, six-foot-three and about 180 pounds. As the Roca boy and the other male were involved in a heated conversation, another white male with black hair, five-foot-eight and about 170 pounds, struck the victim in the face. The group of males left the scene in a white and tan car and have not been located. The victim was treated and released from St. Elizabeth. Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies completed a canvass at the lake and photos were taken, but there is no additional evidence.
