Martell woman hospitalized after one-vehicle crashBy Mark Mahoney A rural Martell woman was taken to a Crete hospital after her SUV crashed near Southwest 42nd Street and Stagecoach Road around 1:45 p.m. June 27.Patricia Holle, 69, of rural Martell, was driving south on Southwest 42nd when she lost control of her vehicle, which began to fishtail, according to sheriffs reports. Her SUV went into a ditch west of the road and rolled on its top. The vehicle was ruled a total loss. According to sheriffs reports, Holle reported that she was traveling about 50 mph down the road, which is gravel. She was wearing her seat belt, but her air bag did not deploy. Holle was transported by the Hallam fire department to the Crete Area Medical Center as a precaution, according to sheriffs reports, and was treated for minor injuries and released. She was cited on suspicion of careless driving. |
