Metal stolen from fuel truck at Shoemaker's SouthBy Mark Mahoney Various pieces of metal were stolen from a fuel truck at Shoemakers South truck stop, 1200 Saltillo Road, sometime between 6:15 p.m. June 30 and 9 a.m. July 1.A 56-year-old Lincoln man reported that while the Wynne Transport fuel truck was parked at Shoemakers, someone opened an unlocked storage compartment on the truck and removed seven pieces of aluminum, including two four-inch cam lock hose caps, two four-inch clutch handle fittings, a four-inch rabbit ear fitting, a four-inch internal fitting and a 4x4 rabbit cam lock adapter, used to connect the truck to fuel storage tanks, according to sheriffs reports. The loss was estimated at $2,188. According to sheriffs reports, the vehicle was on the northeast corner of the lot and was not in view of the truck stop. There are no lights or video cameras on the lot, and no fingerprints were found. There are no suspects, Stebbing said. |
