Computer equipment stolen from SUV in Hickman

By Mark Mahoney

A variety of computer equipment was stolen from an Alltel SUV in Hickman sometime between 6 p.m. July 25 and 4 p.m. July 27.

According to sheriff’s reports, a 38-year-old Hickman man reported that he parked his white 1999 Infinity SUV on Chestnut Street near his home around 6 p.m. Friday and then checked on the vehicle around 4 p.m. Monday, when he found two cardboard boxes of computer equipment missing from the rear compartment. The missing equipment included a Dell computer, a chrome computer stand, two computer keyboards, three flat-screen monitors and a power supply cord. The total loss was estimated at $5,500.

There were no signs of forced entry, according to sheriff’s reports. The SUV had been locked and the keys were not in the ignition at the time of the theft. The man told deputies that he thought the crime might’ve happened during Hickman Hay Day on July 26, according to sheriff’s reports. There are no suspects, Brookhouser said.
