A rowboat was stolen from a
rural Firth home along Firth Road sometime between noon July 20 and 9:30 a.m. August 9.
Sheriffs deputies responded to the house on August 9, where a
75-year-old rural Firth woman reported that someone had taken her 12-foot rowboat sometime
during the previous three weeks, according to sheriffs reports. The boat had been
near the pond on her property and when a 36-year-old Lincoln man came to use it, he
noticed it was missing, according to sheriffs reports. The loss was estimated at
$750.
According to sheriffs reports, the boat has three green seats, three
gray seats and identifying numbers on it, but the woman could not remember them. The man
stated that there was no physical evidence at the scene and it appeared the boat had been
missing for at least a week, due to the fact that grass was growing where the boat had
been sitting, according to sheriffs reports. There are no suspects and the boat has
not been found, Stebbing said.
