Mildred M. Bruha

Mildred Marie (Bors) Bruha, 89, Crete, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008. Born August 30, 1918, on a farm in rural Saline County to August and Lula (Divoky) Bors.

Enjoyed school and graduated from eighth grade at District 94. When her brother married, the family moved to a farm near Tabor Hall, south of Dorchester. In 1935, she graduated from Crete High School. Member of ZCBJ Tabor Lodge 74. Worked as beautician in Crete. Married Loren Bruha on August 14, 1940, and moved to his family farm south of Dorchester. Devoted, helpful mother, grandmother and farm wife. Enjoyed creating loving, welcoming home, had a calm, cheerful disposition, and kind and generous nature.

Survived by: son and daughter-in-law, Shelley and Rose Marie, Dorchester; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and John Howlett, Martell; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death: her parents; husband, Loren; brother and sister-in-law, Milo and Evelyn Bors.

Services were held Saturday, July 26, at Dorchester United Methodist Church. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Crete. The Rev. Paixao Baptista officiated. Memorials in care of the family.
