Ruby Cheney

Ruby Anna Marie Cheney, 80, Bennet, died September 1, 2008. Born May 31, 1928 in Elmwood to Fred and Anna (Brockhoff) Schaefer. Member Bennet Community Church; Lamplighter’s Circle; Camp Creek Threshers; American Legion Auxiliary for 54 years.

Survived by husband, Wayne; children and spouses: Arlene and Ron Dowding, Bennet; Janet and Alan Baldwin, Seward; Dennis and Heidi Cheney, Bennet; Lois and Larry Essink, Bennet; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren, brother Henry Kirchoff Jr., Omaha; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Mabel Cheney, Glenn Cheney, Eugene and Esther Cheney, Raymond Cheney, Lowell Cheney, Eilene Renter; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 4, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bennet Community Church, 350 Monroe St. Visitation will be one hour before services at church. Memorials in care of family.
